Oh, TRUMP.

Seeing how everything is different amazes me – the people, the food, the streets, the landscaping- but one thing will never be different, TRUMP.

Its kind of interesting how much people are intrigued all over the world by Donald Trump and how everyone fears him. Actually, it’s kind of shocking. Being in Australia only a couple of days, I have been questioned about Trump a few times already. “Oh you’re American, what do you think about Trump?”

This man has made a world alarmed, and the sad part is, is that he actually has a chance of becoming the president. Despise him being possibly the next Hitler, the man is genius; he used the media to gain attention and supporters. The media has decided to focus on the stupidity of Donald Trump and cover it, rather than to cover the good news, such as how other candidates will make a difference or what difference has been made already, all because of ratings.

People need to realize that the only way to stop him is to vote. Australia, has mandatory voting during elections, if you don’t vote, a fine is issued to you. This is the system we need in the US to prevent candidates like Trump. This system will force people to have a voice and to make a difference, which many of my generation lack.

The political system in Australia is a constitutional monarchy. Australians head of the state is the British monarch who is represented by a governor general chosen by the Prime Minister. Unlike Australia, the U.S. is a republic; as well know- the president is head of the state and government and is elected by the people. Three political parties are prominent in Australia: the Liberal Party (LP), the National Party ((NP), and the Australian Labor Party (ALP). After the election, the party that wins becomes the government; the leader of the party becomes the Prime Minister. The elections in Australia run for usually 4 weeks but this time around, they claim it’s the longest election they have had as it is of 8 weeks. Pretty funny when our runs for about 2 years! The Prime Minister can be thrown out at anytime. If it was like that in the U.S., Donald Trump winning wouldn’t much of an issue.

Australia has a huge fear because of the allies they have with the U.S.

Donald Trump is not a man that can be easily worked with as he is already putting at risk other allies such as the ones with Asia. He is a viewed as an international risk. Because Australia is so passionate about climate change, they are the ones the U.S. has to link up with to prevent it in the states. Trump is just another consumerist, who’s views are irrational and overlook climate change. What will he do to prevent climate change? Does he even believe in it? According to his twitter account, nothing. In 2014, Donald Trump tweeted, “This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING bullshit has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice” God be with us all if he does become president. Lets see who wins at deteriorating the world faster- Trump or climate change.
